Global Women Leadership Summit 2024 – A Legacy of Transformational Leadership and Global Impact

Liverpool, 11th–12th October 2024 – The Global Visionary Women Network in collaboration with its partners successfully hosted the Ground-breaking Global Women Leadership Summit 2024, an empowering and transformational two-day event that took place on 11th and 12th October at the prestigious Liverpool Hope University. Bringing together visionary leaders, pioneers, changemakers, entrepreneurs, and trailblazers from across the globe, the summit ignited impactful and empowering discussions, networking, and collaboration, while celebrating women’s leadership, achievements, and global impact.

The summit commenced with a Students and Young Leaders Networking Breakfast and Speed Mentoring, led by an esteemed panel of mentors and seasoned professionals which was immediately followed by warm a welcome and official summit opening by Latoya Likambi, Founder & CEO of Teyes Eye Ltd and  Dr Sylvia Forchap-Likambi, the Founder & Global Chair of the GVWN and summit’s host, respectively. In a compelling and impactful keynote address, Dr Sylvia Forchap-Likambi shared ground-breaking principles and blueprint on developing mental resilience and thriving amidst adversity.

Throughout the day, the summit explored crucial themes such as emotional and mental resilience, harnessing technology and media for impact, and the importance of inter-generational mentorship. The panel on “Passing the Torch: Empowering and Equipping the Next Generation of Women Leaders” provided actionable strategies for fostering resilience and leadership potential in young women.

Following the overwhelming success of the Day 1, the momentum extended into Day2, packed with compelling themes that drove and inspired further meaningful dialogue on the future of women in leadership and sustainability. Day two commenced with another energetic Networking Breakfast and Speed Mentoring session. Discussions put a spotlight on “Women in Leadership and Their Well-being,” focusing on balancing professional growth with personal growth and well-being. Through masterclasses and workshops, participants gained practical tools and strategies for mental wellness, resilience, overcoming burnout, and enhancing leadership visibility and success.

The summit’s thematic panels included “Breaking Barriers: Redefining Leadership for Women in Male-Dominated Sectors,” Chaired by Professor Tim Nichol, where leaders shared cutting-edge strategies, resources, and best practices for advancing in industries traditionally dominated by men and “EmpowerHER: Navigating Challenges and Seizing Leadership Opportunities for the Next Generation of Female Leaders.” This though-provoking session, chaired by Latoya Likambi, inspired young women to overcome self-doubt, seek out mentors, and emerge as confident leaders.

The closing session explored “Sustainable Futures: Building Equitable and Resilient Organisations,” chaired by Dr Craig Marsh. Panellists shared insights and blueprint on leading through times of uncertainty, building diverse and inclusive teams, and fostering organisational resilience.

The transformational summit concluded with a memorable Awards Dinner, featuring captivating performances by the ALM Choir and singer-songwriter Mickey Garnet-King. The highlight of the evening was the Global Visionary Women in Leadership Awards, where outstanding female leaders were celebrated for their remarkable contributions and enduring impact. The evening’s energy and bliss were a testament to the summit’s landmark success in empowering and inspiring women leaders globally.

Attendees praised the summit for its thought-provoking and impactful discussions, transformative impact, and the invaluable connections forged. With all present testifying of not only being inspired, but also empowered and equipped with the tools, strategies, and blueprint required to lead and thrive in challenging times, while maintaining optimal wellbeing and work-family harmony and success.
